Banana and Cream Oatmeal

With the weather changing I was getting a bit bummed I couldn't have my favorite breakfast meal-oatmeal! I remember growing up and having that for breakfast EVERY morning along with some fresh fruit! Unfortunately, I've realized that gluten doesn't agree with me very well. I knew there HAD to be an alternative to this breakfast favorite of mine that wouldn't hurt me. And then I discovered Banana and cream oatmeal!Oh my heavens! It tastes amazing and is super easy to make!! Read below for the recipe ;)


Banana and Cream Oatmeal:


Ingredients:
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 2 tbsp coconut butter (I used Marantha)
  • 1 pinch of sea salt
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon

Directions:
  1. Mash your banana and add the Celtic sea salt and cinnamon.
  2. Warm the coconut manna/butter in sauce pan over low heat.
  3. When it's runny and warm remove from the heat and scoop it into the banana mixture.
  4. Top with your favorite toppings and enjoy!

Overnight Cherry Breakfast Pudding!

Okay this "pudding" is UNREAL it's so good! 

Honestly, when I started doing Auto Immune Paleo (AIP) I really wasn't looking forward to it! I was focusing so much on the things I "couldn't have" that I forgot about the things I COULD have. I am enjoying all of the recipes I have found that are AIP approved! Hope you enjoy this as much as I do!

Overnight Cherry Breakfast Pudding



Ingredients
  1. Native Forest Whole Fat Coconut Milk
  2. 1 bag of frozen dark cherries
  3. 1/2 tsp vanilla or almond extract (optional)
Instructions
  1. Pour the bag of cherries and the can of coconut milk into a small pot.
  2. Heat on low for 5 minutes to melt the cherries
  3. Puree mixture with a hand/immersion blender
  4. Pour into 4 ramekins and cover
  5. Chill in refrigerator overnight
Optional
  1. Stir hemp, chia or flax seed into pudding after its chilled. Sometimes I dust with cinnamon in the morning too.

Your body is a TEMPLE!Why LESS is MORE when it comes to weightloss!

After a few weeks of reflecting… I finally was able to connect the dots on WHY I have been suffering from all these "conditions" -- candida, hypothyroidism, adrenal fatigue, hormonal imbalances etc etc etc., I wasn't treating my body like a temple.

It's so easy to fall in to treating our bodies like they're not "enough". We obsess over the way we look and never stop and realize that what we are doing on a daily basis could be the reasons WHY our bodies are rebelling against us. 

When it comes to LOVING your body-- less is MORE. Killing ourselves in hours upon hours of high intensity work outs or cutting out calories down to pretty much NOTHING is not the way our bodies were intended to be treated. When we do those sort of things it causes stress on EVERYTHING-- which in turn leads to more stress put on our organ & food sensitivities that come out of NO WHERE and guess what?? Usually leads to unwanted WEIGHT GAIN! 

That's not very fun huh?? 

You'd think that by eating less and working out more-- like society tells us to do to lose weight-- we'd lose weight! Quite the contrary!! 

What do I believe will bring you results??



My TOP tips:
1. Treat your body with respect- stop the negative talk and focus on the things you LOVE about yourself!

2. Less is more-- focus on getting in 30 min of exercise daily-- that's all you NEED to reap the benefits of exercise!

3. Focus in on your nutrition- you want to make sure you're eating ENOUGH calories to keep a healthy metabolism. Many of you would be shocked at how many calories you can really eat to lose weight! Waaaay more than the 1200 number I keep seeing floating around! 

Eat MORE natural, unprocessed food and LESS processed junk! If it came from the earth or had a mama you're good to go 

4. Take a chill pill- seriously... CHILL OUT! Give yourself time everyday just to relax and unwind. Your body NEEDS that to fight off the daily stresses that pop up. Stress is one of the worst things for our health!!!

Paleo Cauliflower Pizza

I've never been a big pizza lover, but I am marrying someone who craves pizza like I crave ice-cream ;) So as a compromise I decided to try outcome Cauliflower pizza for us so that he could have his pizza and I could stay on track with my Paleo Lifestyle :) This recipe is SUPER easy and makes a full size pizza!


Cauliflower Pizza



Crust

  • 1 full head of cauliflower
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tbspn of coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup of Bob Red Mills Almond Meal

Suggested Toppings
  • 1 16 oz can of organic, low sodium tomato sauce
  • peppers, zucchini, red onion, feta cheese

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees, steam cauliflower and once soft, mash till it resembles rice grains with a food processor or use fork to mash.
  2. Mix all the other crust ingredients together.
  3. Spray pan down with cooking spray or oil
  4. Place crust on pan and form into pizza shape
  5. Bake for 12-14 mins. until edges start to turn brown(its okay if it's a little soft and mushy, that will go away once you top and back for additional time)
  6. Pour tomate sauce over pizza and top with toppings of your choice. 
  7. Cook ab additional 5-10 mins.

Sinful Paleo Banana Pancakes

I am a sweets lover, there's not secret about that. So when deciding to really to take my health in my own hands (candida, adrenal fatigue, hypothyroidism, hormonal imbalances etc,.) I knew that a huge part of getting that all under control was what I was putting in my body. I decided to go Paleo a few months ago and lately have been experimenting with some new recipes to keep things fun and interesting. This one right here is a WINNER! If you make them, let me know what you think!

BANANA PANCAKES
Prep time: 5 min 
Cook time: 10 min
Serves: 4 (makes 8-9 small/medium pancakes)





Ingredients

  • 3 bananas
  • 3 large pastured eggs
  • 3/4 cups almond flour
  • 1 tsp cinnamon (optional)

Instructions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, mash bananas with a fork or potato masher (I used my hands-- yes they were clean!)
  2. Crack eggs into the bowl, add almond flour and cinnamon and combine.
  3. preheat a large cast iron skillet or griddle pan on medium heat (I added a 1 tsp of coconut oil to avoid it sticking)
  4. Using a cookie scoop or large spoon, add 2-3 tablespoon scoops of batter onto the cooking surface
  5. Cook until the edges look done and gently flip the pancakes over and cook a few minutes more. Top with some extra butter or coconut oil, (I used coconut butter in this picture), cinnamon or walnuts and serve. 
  6. ENJOY!

10 Days to Drop the Water Weight

So you're feeling frustrated because you cannot lose any weight even though you are doing EVERYTHING right-- eating healthy and the right amount of calories for your body, working out every day, getting enough sleep, keeping your sodium intake low and drinking enough water. Believe me, I've been there. Sometime our bodies just need a break from what we're doing, even if its healthy eating, and need some time to detox in a natural HEALTHY way.

P90. Is this for YOU?




Calling all individuals who are WANTING to get healthier, fitter & happier this fall but don't know where to begin! Beachbody is about to release a NEW program called P90 that will be released this Fall. Have you ever seen P90X? Ever attempted to do it and failed miserably? Believe me, I've been there. And guess what?! I am beyond THRILLED that Beachbody has come out with something that is a stepping stone to P90X, P90x2 & P90X3. This new program is called P90 and will be just the thing you need in order to see results this Fall. Deciding to make some changes in your life is a big deal, and so often we jump in with both feet first, in to a program that is way too advanced for us and then end up quitting a few days in. This time is different. This time you will have a program that will take it slow with you. Every day you will become stronger & fitter but with the right pace.  



FINALLY! Our prayers have been answered! Tony Horton heard those prayers and saw the need for a program that will help individuals start at a slower pace so that they can advance to a faster, more extreme program in just 90 days. We want to be in the best shape of our lives, but we need to start at the beginning and build core strength, stability and have correct form so that we don't get injured and end up back at the start again! It's about creating a safe and effective starting point for people to introduce fitness into their lives. Its also a great way to teach individuals that working out and strength training doesn't have to be about killing yourself in your work outs. You can get awesome results by just mastering the right form. 


So who is this program for? 
This program is for anyone who doesn't want to do hardcore work outs but wants to lose weight by just learning some basics cardio and toning moves. Maybe you've lost some muscle over the years and haven't given yourself that ME time you need to gain it back. Maybe you're someone who just wants to feel healthy & happy again. 


So what is this program all about?
P90 has simple cardio, strength training and flexibility work outs for 25 minutes per day for 90 days. It also comes with a simple nutrition guide that will help you get on track with your eating and focusing on the right foods to fuel your body properly for those work outs and results. So when will it be available? Expected release date is September 23rd, 2014 through a Team Beachbody coach, like me, if you're not already working with a coach!
